These Terms of Use govern access to CHESSVOLA and use of chessvola.com, profiles, chess games, ratings, friends, chat, and chess puzzles.

By using CHESSVOLA, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Age and accounts

You must meet the minimum age for independently using online services in your country or have any consent required from a parent or legal guardian.

Provide accurate information, protect your sign-in credentials, and do not transfer your profile to another person. You are responsible for activity on your profile. Do not create additional profiles to evade restrictions or manipulate ratings.

3. Sign-in methods and guest access

CHESSVOLA may allow sign-in by email, Google, Facebook, or as a guest. Use of Google or Facebook is also governed by that provider’s terms.

Guest profiles may have limited features and may not always be recoverable. CHESSVOLA does not receive your Google or Facebook password.

4. Games, ratings, and fair play

Game results, ratings, and statistics are calculated by the system and may be corrected when an error, outage, fraud, or violation of these Terms is identified.

During rated games or games against another person, you may not use third-party chess engines, bots, move assistance, or automation. This restriction does not prevent ordinary use of CHESSVOLA’s built-in computer mode.

5. Prohibited conduct

• illegal activity, harassment, threats, abuse, or discrimination;
• cheating, collusion, move sharing, or manipulation of ratings or results;
• exploiting vulnerabilities, unauthorized access, or disruption of the service;
• automated bulk collection, spam, or excessive requests;
• impersonation or infringement of another person’s rights;
• posting harmful, unlawful, or inappropriate content.

6. Usernames, avatars, and chat

You are responsible for the username, avatar, and messages you submit. You grant CHESSVOLA a limited permission to store, process, and display that content only as needed to operate and protect the service.

We may hide or remove content and restrict chat when these Terms are violated. Do not share confidential information in chat.

7. Intellectual property

The CHESSVOLA name, interface, code, graphics, and other service elements belong to their owners or are used under applicable licenses. You receive a limited right to use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not copy, sell, republish, circumvent, or attempt to decompile the service except where expressly allowed by law or by a component’s license.

8. Availability, changes, and termination

We may update, suspend, or change CHESSVOLA features. Continuous or error-free availability is not guaranteed.

We may warn, restrict, or terminate access for violations of these Terms or risks to users or service security. You may delete your profile from the profile page. Instructions are available on the Data Deletion page; if you cannot sign in, contact [email protected].

9. Disclaimers and liability

CHESSVOLA is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee freedom from errors, connection loss, loss of progress, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, CHESSVOLA is not liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from use of, or inability to use, the service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

10. Privacy, changes, and contact

Personal data handling is described in the Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms. The current version will be published here with a new date. Continued use after changes take effect means acceptance of the updated Terms.
